A Little Mid-February Update

There's some great gigs coming up for me this month! This Valentine's Day (14th Feb, if you're not aware) I'm joining Cindy Dean for her Olivia Newton-John tribute show. It's happening at Valley Social in Henley Brook, and will be a special matinee session, with doors opening at 12pm. Cindy will be documenting the influence her idol Olivia has had on her over the years, and I'll be contributing some vocals and guitar on a few tunes. Keyboardist extraordinaire Ian Christie is also joining Cindy, and she has constructed a lively setlist with anecdotes a-plenty. In other news, the Wesleys are returning to the Byford & Districts Country Club this Sunday (16th Feb) for our second regular appearance there this month. Making this one rather special for me, our son Lachlan will be joining us onstage for the entire gig! This will only be his second full gig with WGJS, but this year will see him making more appearances with us. Very excited to Wes it up with my boy this weekend! We are kicking off in the beer garden from 12pm, with the inimitable Shaun Street slapping the bass. Join us!

I am also returning to the Riverton Bar & Grill for the first time this year on Friday night! I shall be in the sports bar from 5:30pm, and if all goes to plan, I shall be appearing there twice a month over February and March. Check my FB page or Giglist to confirm my dates!

Unfortunately, I'm also having surgery on my left foot again. Some of you may remember that I had a lump removed in August 2022, and it took quite a while to heal. Thankfully, said growth turned out to be non-cancerous and I eventually healed up right nice, with a little help from a pressure bandage. Just below where that lump was, my foot has now grown several more bumps, which all have to come out. Again, there is no cancer scare, it's just an annoying occurrence that has to, um, occur. So, my gig at the Federal Hotel on Thursday 20th Feb will be my last one before hitting the hospital. I hope to be back on deck at the start of March, albeit a bit limpy perhaps.
